The Stephen Fung DOT NET Feed Me Train!

Fellow Narcisstic Blogger, Kelly Cho setup a Feed Reader Train! Kelly was the winner of our Fave Me for a Charity draw for a Microsoft Comfort Mouse 3000 courtesy of Futurelooks. In fact, she’s enjoying it right now.

Kelly’s train should help everyone get feed subscriptions up, and hopefully keep them up. The nice thing about all these trains coming through is that it builds a lot of great links and exposes your blog to lots of different people. Although many times, these types of trains will just artificially inflate your stats, there’s a good chance that you might pick up a few readers that will stick around for the long haul (or at least forget to unsubscribe :p ). Have fun!

***Start Copying Here:***

Here are the rules:

1) Write a short introduction about how you found this list and include a link back to that blog.

2) COPY the rules and ENTIRE list below and post it on your blog.

3) Take the blogs in “My New Subscriptions” and move them into the “The Original Subscriptions” list.

4) Share 3 blogs you read, add them to your feed reader and add them to the “My New Subscriptions” section. Remember to also add the “Feed Me” link next to your new blogs. ( Example: http://www.stephenfung.net/feed/ OR http://feeds.feedburner.com/StephenFungDotNet). Make sure it’s a valid link.

5) Add each feed listed here to your reader by clicking on “Feed Me”. The goal is to have more subscribers reading your blog, and you should be reading others too! Don’t feel obligated though… afterall, you don’t want clutter in your Reader!

If you’re worried about Reader Clutter, you can use Google Reader which has an excellent folder system.  I’ve created a folder called “Feed Train” and put everyone in there that wasn’t already on my feed list.

I never understood these type of link trains.

I mean keeps the lists all the same? If I were to add people but someone else’s list might add different people so in reality there could be multiple lists but none of have the same people?

Or am I just confusing myself?

It is possible for the lists to have more people, but not different people. Someone always originates the original list which people add on to. However, since people get their lists from different sources, the additions could be different. So I guess, if the person always used the same starting list, then the starters would always be the same, provided that the same person always starts the lists.

So it would be best to be an originator of a list than to be included on it down the road ;)

I’d like to help out, but I guess I too old… I still read my websites with a browser :)

I still do too. It’s nice to have an RSS feed subscription in case I forget to check on sites or I don’t have them bookmarked. Normally I don’t bookmark Blogs so I rely on an RSS Feed to remind me to check up on them.

Well this kind of trains are already on discussion with the morality factor and some people are already telling this is degrading the ranking system based on feed count and Technorati faves
