I’m So Wired…

So today, I wired up the office for Ethernet.  I put 2 ports on every wall.  My fingers are sore from installing conduit, untwisting copper pairs, and installing all the outlets.  Since I’ve got CAT 5e running all over the place, it will be a Gigabit Ethernet.  I’m using a Dell Powerconnect Gigabit switch with 8 ports.  I wanted a bigger one, but this one was such a good deal, and I really don’t need more than 8 ports right now.

The cable company is coming tomorrow to run a line up to the office.  Hopefully, I did a good job, and I won’t need to crawl around looking for the fault in the network 😛
