The Pre-COMPUTEX Stephen Fung DOT NET High Five

Welcome to another exciting episode of the Stephen Fung DOT NET High Five (formerly known as Speedlinking) where I locate five interesting posts and or blogs that you should…well…have a look at.

  • Ricardo De Sousa wants to buy a car.  But not just any car.  He’s hoping to get himself a shiny new Mazda RX-8 that runs about $19,000 in his home country. Ricardo has two loves: Alcohol and Fast Cars so he created blogs to go with them, but hopefully he doesn’t mix the two offline.  So far, his blogs have earned him a total of $105.58.  Looks like he’s got a little ways to go still but if he keeps going, I’m sure he’ll get his car…eventually…
  • Still don’t have a contact page?  Why not?  Ben at IdleProfit gives you “Five Reasons You Need to Have a Contact Page“. In fact, he told me about his post by using my contact page. If you don’t have a contact page yet, Ben tells you how to set one up too.
  • Our friend Rainer has been battling Worksafe BC, a government body setup to rehabilitate and compensate workers injured on the job.  Unfortunately, like a lot of government divisions, this one is injured too and as a result it is hurting the very people it has been setup to protect. Rainer chronicles his battles with the agency on his new blog called WCB Digest.  His hope is to collect similar stories and provide the site as a resource so that others will not have to go through the hell that he has gone through.
  • Ed Lau takes a break from sleeping and talks about some of the crazy people he encounters at his day job.  This is kind of a blast from the past for me because a year ago, before retiring, I worked at the same company, and I can assure you that Ed has only given you a taste of the weirdness.
  • Marisa at Marisa’s Dandelion Patch touches on the importance of charity and how even the smallest contributions can make the biggest differences. That’s one of the reasons why I altered my Dot Com Mogul Checklist to include charity giving. If everyone in the blogosphere made it a habit to do a little bit here and there, we could make such a difference and I’ve made a promise to do my part.

That’s all from me till I land in Taiwan.  Keep blogging, commenting, and if you think I’ve missed something absolutely brilliant that you’ve written, you can contact me ;)

Thanks for the link to my site. I agree, charity is essential. Not only do we help those in need, we help ourselves to remain aware of the needs of others. :)

No contact page?!?!? I get mail pretty regularly from mine – this just sounds silly.

Now I have to go read the posts!

Thanks for the link Stephen. I hope I can make a difference in the struggles for fair treatment by WCB.
