Nintendo Wii-Mote : Your TV’s Death Knell

You would think that with a name like Nunchuk, the Wii-chuk would be more of a danger than the Wii-Mote. Well, according to Engadget, it looks like the Wii-Mote has done considerable damage to some people’s TV sets. People are experiencing the Wii-Mote seperating from their hands during spirited gameplay and crashing into their screens. This is not just isolated to TV’s. Apparently, nearby PDA’s and Beer Glasses are also getting hit hard by the Wii-Mote Attack.

Personally, I haven’t had any of my Wii-Motes fly towards my TV unexpectedly. Either people are drinking a little too much in front of the TV, as evident by the close proximity of beer glasses, or they need to control their sweating problems. Stand back people!

I think anyone stupid enough not to be careful when playing with the Wii remote doesn’t deserve to have a TV. Look at how hard that guy is throwing it! Of COURSE it is going to break! You don’t need to throw it that hard, the game probably doesn’t even detect movements that fast.

I was over at Metrotown in Burnaby yesturday and the Nintendo Rep told us that we had to be strapped to the Wii-Mote because people unexpectantly let them go and they went flying towards the TV and various locations around it.

But I must say how much fun the new Nintendo Wii is. We played the bowling game and it was a hoot. They had the tennis game, Splinter Cell and Zelda. The graphics for Zelda look soo impressive.

I can’t wait to own a Wii myself. So I am looking for any donations this December to help me afford one =-)
