Word on the street is that Microsoft has been handing out shiny new ACER Ferrari laptops to bloggers in hopes that they will say nice things about the new Windows VISTA operating system. I guess MS was hoping if the price was good enough it would buy some silence and some praise. Instead, there has been a huge backlash in the blogosphere.
The new OS is due to launch at the end of January and it looks like MS’s propaganda engine is in full swing. Man, for a nice shiny new laptop like that, I’d say a lot of things, but I’d still disclose that I’d been bought out. Apparently there are a lot of blogs that are still keeping zipped about this alleged bribe. I don’t know why they’d keep quiet about that. I mean, if MS sent me a sweet laptop I’d for sure tell you folks about it. MS..are you listening? You can send me one if you like 😉
