Wesley Crusher Joins Netscape!

Wil Wheaton, best known for his role as “Wesley Crusher” on Star Trek: The Next Generation is a self professed DIGGER. But due to the high school attitude of the group over at DIGG, Wil has gone on to greener and slightly less adolescent pastures of Netscape. “Scapers” as they are called over there seem to be a bit more mature and composed in my humble opinion. Generally, the stuff that makes it to their front page is actually good and doesn’t require “Apple” or “Kevin Rose” to be mentioned to get there. One look at some of the comments reveals a higher level of reading and writing comprehension.

Recently, there has been some controversy about advertisers buying peoples votes on Netscape and Digg. However, in my experience, this is more of a problem for DIGG. The juvenile behaviour over there has just become unbearable. Though it is still a huge source of traffic when one of my articles gets DUGG, I just don’t know if I want to attract those types of users.

Looks like things are going well for Netscape and the “Scapers”. Web 2.0 seems like the rebirth of a lot of companies lately.
