Weekend Retirement Party Report

This past Saturday, I had my official party to celebrate my exit from the Rat Race. It was a great time with lots of food and lots of wine! We had over 25 people there througout the course of the night squeezed into my little house. I’m happy to report that nothing was broken, no one puked, and overall, we were fairly civilized. I guess the wine and cheese helped set the tone. If it had been a beer party, I’m sure the results would have been much different.
Here are a few slightly tipsy shots from the evening. Click on the pic to supersize it. Sorry if there weren’t more pictures. It is hard to shoot with a glass of wine in one hand, and a bottle in the other.
We gave away some cool prizes, but everyone was anticipating the giveaway of the grand prize of the Toshiba DVD Player courtesy of Futurelooks. The prize was for the best wine, as judged by me, of course.
After more tasting over the weekend, I have concluded that the winner of the DVD Player is none other than “Ashley” for his contribution of the South African Pinotage. The wine had such a unique flavour. Bold at the beginning, with a medium dryness to it, and finished off soft with just a hint of the unique after taste. This is going to be the wine of choice for slapping a steak on the BBQ, once I get around to getting one. Thanks Ashley! You can pick up your DVD Player anytime.
Thanks again to everyone for attending. Now that I know that 25 people fit no problem, I think we might have to invite more people next time

Good to hear that things are going great!
Were the office pics!
The folks that came, got a preview. It was a bit of a mess, but everyone thought the concept was cool. As soon as I get a few things put away and sorted, I’ll be posting pics. Hopefully shortly after I come back from E3 in Los Angeles!
