The Declining use of Turn Signals…

I haven’t driven nearly as long as other people, but in my short time (OK, 12 years…now I’m dating myself!) I’ve noticed that people have started using them less and less. More of a courtesy than a requirement, people are just less courteous. Of course I shouldn’t be tailgating, but please give me the courtesy of a signal so i can back off.

Hey Stephen, try living in Winnipeg where the driving laws are considered just a “suggestion.” Asshats with cellphones, sandwiches, coffee, cigarettes are more interested in satisfying their oral fixations than obeying the laws of the road.
But forget about the laws of the road for a moment and let’s talk about the decline in common courtesy, civility and common sense.
Some, not all people in the public arena are becoming louts of the lowest order. Rude for no reason, selfish and narcissistic and generally blatantly borish with no redeeming social graces whatsoever.
I remember tooting my horn at some old duff for cutting me off and the ass blared his horn, shook his fist at me and screamed imprecations thru his window.
This was when it was his fault. Good grief, I was appalled at this blatant show of indignation when the other party was the guilty one.
I guess the best defense is a good offense. Too bad it doesn’t work with folks like me that don’t get rattled by overt displays of anger and emotion.
If you’re right, you’re right and no amount of bluster will change that. If you’re wrong, be an adult, step up and show contrition and a little humility.
Too many folks today are too quick to anger, overly defensive and show little ego stabilization which makes them act in an insecure fashion.
Substituting anger and negative emotional displays for common sense and humility does not and will not make you right. Silly people.
P.S., I’m ChuckBWon, btw.
I’m with you Chuck! There is just no more common courtesy these days. The world is just going down the tubes
