RIP Dr. Carson Beckett…

It was a sad day on Stargate Atlantis. Wee baby turtle loving Dr. Carson Beckett got killed in an explosion on the last episode, leaving not much chance for him to come back. This marks the first time that I’ve seen a major character killed off in a Stargate show without much left to bring him back. However, with a SciFi show, parallel universes and alternate time lines are a dime a dozen. I’m sure we’ll see him again. I guess that’s what you get for wanting to go “Fishing” all episode?
I wonder who will replace him? Will they bring Dr. Lam from SG-1 over? She hasn’t gotten a lot of screentime lately. Word is Samantha Carter will be seeing more time on Atlantis as well while Dr. Weir will be receiving less time. I really hope they aren’t setting this show up for a fall. First SG-1. Then SGA. I just can’t take losing another show I liked! They already killed off Enterprise, a show that finally started to get really good in the last season. What am I going to watch? I need my SciFi, intergalactic travel fix!
It’s a good thing BSG is still going very strong.
Update: Wow, looks like there is already a site devoted to bringing Carson back.

Hrmmm I just never got into Stargate enough to care…
Beckett was a great character, too bad that he has to leave the show.
