New Knight Rider in 2008!

Michael Tracer, played by soap star Justin Bruening, is a disgruntled Iraq war veteran and the son of former lone crusader, Michael Knight, who will be played by David Hasselhoff in a cameo during the series premiere on February 17th, 2008. The two hour premiere will be a sort of passing of the torch from the old generation to the new generation, from father to son. I wonder if the new Lone Crusader will have a singing career too?
What about KITT? Well, he’ll still be black, but instead of the GM Trans AM from the 80’s, he’ll get some of his influence from the horrid Team Knight Rider which featured FORD vehicles. KITT will return as a Mustang Shelby GT500KR that will take multiple configurations reminiscent of the Convertible and Super Pursuit mode of the orignal. Here’s a quick video from the launch that shows off his three distinct forms:
The final change to KITT will be his voice. Gone is the familiar wise-cracking voice acting of William Daniels who will be replaced by Will Arnett (Arrested Development / Blades of Glory) as the voice of the New KITT. Personally, I think that it would’ve been cool to have Daniels back in the role. I mean, what made KITT… KITT was the personality and the voice. I can see how they don’t want the new KITT to be “Dad’s Car” but think about what would have happened if in the Transformers movie, the first time that Prime spoke (still can’t get over the “LIP” thing), it was some other Schmoe? Look for the two hour premiere of The NEW Knight Rider on February 17th, 2007!

Where is the red light on the front?
I agree the voice should have been back to the orginal.
Most pics I’ve seen show them under the air scoop on the hood when New KITT is in ATTACK mode.
ooooh, I LIKE the new car!
BTW, “KR” stands for “King of the Road”
And I thought it was “Knight Rider” edition
