Netscape Does Things “DIGG” Style…

DIGG has spawned a lot of copy cat sites, trying to mimic their organic news system. Looks like Netscape is the next biggest player to adopt this.

I found out about this a week ago after a tip from some fellow webmasters. We decided to start posting a couple articles a day to Netscape and would help eachother out by voting for our own articles. Within the first day or so, although we didn’t notice a huge spike in traffic, we did notice that our Shopping ads and our Google dollars went up. Since I haven’t launched a new article in a few days, I knew that had something to do with it. Sal from XYZ noticed the same thing as well.

Although our findings are definitely inconclusive, this was our observation. Also, since the system is setup so that people vote to the front of the site what they like, anyone can post stuff to it. If they like it, they vote for you. If they don’t like it, they don’t vote for you, however, they might come to your site and click a few ads. It also helps to be linked on a site with a higher Page Ranking if you want to get up there in Google search results. Try it!
