As Stephen said you need a baseline. I'm guessing the site is database driven, so adding Google adsense, should be easy. I would say give it at least a week before you start tweaking. (That way the adsense bot can crawl your site and get better targeted keywords). Tweaking: Trying different ad formats, colors, positions, etc..
