A note on tips.  Everywhere else in the world, tips are earned, or they are shameful because they denote pity, or imply that you are superior to the ones that serve you.  Nowhere else on the planet are they as taken for granted as they are in North America.  If you are able to leave behind this North American mentality, you will see how undeserved the tips you give out are, when measured against the scale of service around the world.

Tips are for service above and beyond.  Not for &quot;Doing the Job&quot;.
