Dot Com Gourmet – Lunch Time

In my Typical Dot Com Day post, I mentioned that I liked to cook. Here’s my lunch today…

The dish above is a a jumbo prawn linguini with brocolli. The prawns were cooked with olive oil, onions, garlic, white wine and sundried tomato pesto with just a bit of salt and pepper. I finished it off with sunflower seeds and fresh grated parmesan regiano. Healthy and tasty and my very own

My lunch consisted of….chic-fil-a nuggets and fries, bathed in polynesian sauce. and some high quality h2o provided by aquafina.
I had some left over sweet&sour pork with some fried rice (my parents own a restaurant… i know, it’s about as stereotyped as it gets).
What? No chicken balls? Is that a combo #8?
Surprisingly no. I opted out of the spring roll too.
i actually had sweet and sour chicken with fried rice the other day, my sister the vegetarian went with the spring rolls.
Oh, the irony of it all.
Nice dish, by the way, Stephen. There seems to be an increase in popularity of non-traditional plates, especially in Vancouver. The whole trendy urbanite phenomenon.
Wow, Nick, you really want to win that mouse, huh?
dude, give up, its mine >:(
That’s why I said that you really wanted it. With a 20 comment lead, you just might have it in the bag.
think referrals is starting to give me a run for the money, i dont like it, michael, throw a wrench at his computer…thanks.
That looks delicious. Stephen, have you always liked to cook or did you gain the appreciation/skill after some time? I’ve never been a fan of cooking but it would be great to be able to make meals like that.
I was a restaurant brat growing up. Hated it. But you never saw a an onion sliced faster than mine. The faster I finished, the faster I went home.
I started loving to cook food again when I discovered Iron Chef
Love Iron Chef. There is another show that I think is great because it involves cooking in home kitchens. Take Home Chef is brilliant because he shows how to cook great meals in a different home kitchen each episode, not a big fancy professional kitchen.
I have found some really easy ways to make great meals just by watching that show.
I’ll start posting my creations. I love cooking, it relaxes me. My wife says she married me because she doesn’t need to go out to have great food.
It’s great blogging material. Why advertise someone elses food when you can advertise your own
Tell that to John and all of his Dine Out Vancouver experiences.
well unless you are selling your food it doesnt really matter. Both of you are advertising your blog by creating posts, and thats what really matters, both of you seem to have a love of good food, so you are having fun at the same time.
That looks delicious! I’m hungry.
It “Was”
Thanks for dropping in Bill. Haven’t seen you around before.
If it wasn’t for the Oven that the plate was sitting on, I was going to ask what resturaunt that was
yea thats a pretty snazzy plate youve got there stephen, it looks like its restaurant caliber.
That looks like a nice meal! Are plates ever round out where you are? They seem alsorts of weird shapes
They are generally all sorts of weird shapes. Its like the signature of a high end restaurant, or a dot com kitchen
dot com kitchen, haha.
to go with that dot com brocolli and dot com noodles, right? Where’s the CTRL+ALT+DEL for if it comes out to salty?
Oh, the Dot Com Kitchen always turns out perfection. Well, at least the perfection I tell you about. The mistakes are put into the dot com garbage can
I am sure if it’s a dot com garbage can that a right click can recover it out of there
I have it set to auto delete. It ain’t coming back to my Dot Com House!
Though in this area, we have a few Dot Com Transients that pick through the Dot Com Garbage occasionally.
Don’t you mean Dot Com recycle bin (or compost heap, I guess)
You go ahead and knock yourself out. I won’t be recycling that
wow, if anyone saw this thread they would be laughing at what nerds we are. o well, we rule the world.
