I just found out that my ASUS W3Ja Laptop has a reader built in that will read SD Cards bigger than 1 GB. Before, I thought it was a memory addressing limitation of the built in readers since two DELLs I put my card in wouldn’t even recognize it. So I never bothered using the slot in my new laptop. All this time, I didn’t have to drag around that external reader! Doh!
Looks like DELL laptops are the culprit since John’s doesn’t recognize the 2 gig cards either in his XPS. Bad DELL! Well, I guess less to bring with me next time I go travelling.
