Comments Unleashed!

One of the things that kind of annoyed me, and I know you guys too, was the fact that threads that have comments on them were never threaded. You would always have to quote someone’s name before you replied, to make sure that you directed your comment to the right person, and you couldn’t just reply directly to any comment. Now you can…

The threaded comments plugin by Brian Meidell allows you to reply directly to any comment you wish. I actually saw this on John’s Blog so I’ll give him the credit for finding it. It was an easy decision to install it because it’ll make things easy for me and for the Comment Whores fighting for the top spot.

The plugin also ads a slightly enhanced editor that allows you a little bit more creativity in your posts. Enjoy and let me know what you think.

Oh even the editor is within the post thread!

(Comments wont nest below this level)

I think it’s kind a neat though I would seperate the replies content from the name/date.

It’s a good plugin and makes it very easy for people to manage their comments. It’s a no brainer for me!

I just noticed the “Show Inline” doesn’t show the threaded comments.

If you respond it does. Hmm… Have to look into that…

I dunno…to me it would make sense if you had like 50 comments per thread… but you generally have like…1-4. I mean, it’s not a bad thing, but it doesn’t hurt me to not see it either…the comment traffic just isn’t high enough to need it. Now, Rosie…she could use it on her blog

I like it, but having all those extra little features for formatting, well, they’re not all that necessary.

I use a very different theme and I just can’t make this work. I guess I could change themes and be like all other blogs but I really like to be different. I guess this is the price I will have to pay.

Any chance of doing a blog entry on adjusting the css for Brian’s Threaded Comments? A lot of us are having problems with things like tiny text, adjusting the colors of the boxes etc

Hi Michael. Wish I could be of more help, but all I did was unzip it, install it, and away I went. I didn’t run into problems with the install on my side.
