How Fast Do You Need to Have Your Evening News?

In order to settle the score of which news station reigns supreme, KDBC 4 and KVIA 7 decided to drag race their news vans to settle the score of who gets on the scene the fastest. After covering a horrific drag racing accident, the two news van drivers laid the pride of their stations on the line on the drag strip. At least they weren’t street racing…
At the end of the day, both of them ended up being losers. Both drivers and crews got fired for their misconduct. Personally, I thought it was a great publicity stunt for the stations, but I do think that it might have been a better idea to set a day where they weren’t on the clock and it wasn’t after an accident on the track. Do you think the news stations overreacted or do you think they were justified in their dismissals?
The Biggest Snowfall of 2008…So Far…

The Lower Mainland of British Columbia received the biggest dump of snow in a long time. It far surpassed the snowfall that we had at the tail end of 2007. Snowfall accumulations ranged from 10 CM’s to 30 CM’s in my own backyard of Port Moody, BC. There was so much snow here that they even mentioned my area on the evening news.

Although most of the main roads were already plowed, many of the sidestreets were still covered in lots of snow. It was funny seeing so many cars parked at the bottom of hills while driveways further up the hill remained totally empty. It looked like someone shook the hill and they all slid to the bottom. As I drove around, I saw more cars stuck in ditches and a large number of SUV’s slipping around sideways. Apparently only about 28% of people in the Lower Mainland have proper winter tires and most of the accidents are caused by people running the standard all season tires. I can believe it. My Pirelli P-Zero Nero’s were something scary in the snow before I got my Dunlops put on.

If you ever wondered if the Postal Workers really worked through sleet, snow and rain, well, they do. It’s just another day for them, and apparently, this is just another shorts day for this postal worker. How’s the snow where you are?
New Knight Rider in 2008!

Michael Tracer, played by soap star Justin Bruening, is a disgruntled Iraq war veteran and the son of former lone crusader, Michael Knight, who will be played by David Hasselhoff in a cameo during the series premiere on February 17th, 2008. The two hour premiere will be a sort of passing of the torch from the old generation to the new generation, from father to son. I wonder if the new Lone Crusader will have a singing career too?
What about KITT? Well, he’ll still be black, but instead of the GM Trans AM from the 80’s, he’ll get some of his influence from the horrid Team Knight Rider which featured FORD vehicles. KITT will return as a Mustang Shelby GT500KR that will take multiple configurations reminiscent of the Convertible and Super Pursuit mode of the orignal. Here’s a quick video from the launch that shows off his three distinct forms:
The final change to KITT will be his voice. Gone is the familiar wise-cracking voice acting of William Daniels who will be replaced by Will Arnett (Arrested Development / Blades of Glory) as the voice of the New KITT. Personally, I think that it would’ve been cool to have Daniels back in the role. I mean, what made KITT… KITT was the personality and the voice. I can see how they don’t want the new KITT to be “Dad’s Car” but think about what would have happened if in the Transformers movie, the first time that Prime spoke (still can’t get over the “LIP” thing), it was some other Schmoe? Look for the two hour premiere of The NEW Knight Rider on February 17th, 2007!
On another note, I’m still giving away at Samsung 20 inch Widescreen LCD Monitor and 4 GB Samsung MP3 player at Futurelooks. Contest ends December 16th so ENTER NOW!
