There's people doing all sorts of work to make this go. Making instructional videos, printing up business cards, renting out booths at tradeshows. There will be a lot of pissed off people if this thing flops. I'm glad I'm not one of those people.

If it doesn't go, no harm no foul for me. But if it does go, I'm covered too.

I agree with your skepticism, Stephen. Everyone else is saying "now is the time to recruit" before the released. However, I don't want to recruit people now who are excited about it, and then their excitement has died in 4 weeks when the viewbar comes out. Then I'll just have a bunch of referrals who aren't making me any money. Even though waiting until later may result in less referrals, I feel it will result in more active referrals.

And I still don't know if we'll make any money, but at least I'm not planning on putting in a crazy amount of work for it. So it shouldn't matter.

I'm sitting at just one referral. While their business plan this time around is much more sound, it's also not nearly as attractive to users as the old one. We're banking on the possibility, not on something firm.

You make no money. At least not right now. The offer is shares in a company that may, or may not, go public, pending regulatory approval. So you're surfing for the promise of shares worth something someday. The more you sign up, the more shares you get because you'll be surfing for shares, and so will your netowork. Depending on how things pan out, you'll either have a whole bunch or shares worth nothing, or a whole bunch of shares worth something...maybe. How much is anyone's guess.
