“It has just been announced that Research in Motion, maker of the BlackBerry line of devices, is in the process of acquiring Palm, Inc. This news comes mere months before the pending release of the Palm Pre, a smartphone that is supposed infuse new energy and excitement into the Palm brand. Research in Motion wants to capitalize on this excitement and extend it to the BlackBerry line as a whole.”
This is hot on the heels of this morning’s launch of the new Blackberry App World. Looks like Waterloo is full of surprises today. Head on over to Futurelooks for the whole story on how this latest deal came together.
With the power and security of the BlackBerry Platform and the beautiful OS of the new Palm Pre, the new PalmBerry handsets will have people saying “iPhone Who?”
Uh Oh… Ali Larter is Obsessed With Me…

Today I received a video love note from Ali Larter. Of course this is nothing out of the ordinary seeing as I’m a Dot Com Pho star and all. I’m sure the other members get flowers and chocolates and stuffed teddy bears too. I know Ed Lau gets beautiful girls directly to his Hotel (but he has to order those).

But then as I watched the video, I started getting a little uncomfortable. It was like she was “obsessed” with me and I started feeling like my life was in danger. Maybe I’m overreacting? I mean, come on! How can you be upset about a hot movie star getting all hot and bothered about you? I’ve posted the video here. Maybe you can give me a second opinion?

This is probably one of the better done viral video campaigns for a movie that I’ve seen in a while. It totally makes you part of the experience, albeit a slightly creeepy one. I’m not sure if I’m going to see Ali’s movie or not, which opens on April 24th, but I did get a good laugh from the video courtesy of Michael Kwan (Where did you get that picture?).
Dot Com Pho After Hours – The Fender Bender Edition

This week was a smaller turn out but we still managed to turn out seven minutes of Dot Com Pho After Hours entertainment that we know you will enjoy. Leo Chiang is on deck to talk about his exploits as a SciFi star, Ed Lau talks about my food exploits, and I do what I do best: Eat. Michael Kwan also makes an appearance in Kwan’s Korner (or is it “Kworner”?) with another exciting gadget that will change your life.
You might be wondering where John Chow is? Well, he’s still stuck in China awaiting trial for crimes against the national animal: The Noble Panda. If you’re from the PETA, you might also want to check out his lobster disrespecting video. Yes, he did it again. He’s a repeat offender and he will offend again!
See you all next week!
