Tomorrow’s Secret Pho Location - Cambie Vietnamese Restaurant

Yes we shall, and it shall be done! Dot Com Pho is no longer a prisoner to Ricmond! We heard the cries of the people and we’re now giving you a Pho that is closer to transit and more centrally located. No longer will you have to say “Gee, I wish I could come to Dot Com Pho, but why Richmond? The drivers are scary and it’s so far away!”
Tomorrow’s Dot Com Pho will be taking place at the centrally located Cambie Vietnamese Restaurant in Vancouver, on the corner of Main and King Edward in Vancouver. Yes, I know. It’s nowhere near Cambie, but it used to be. This establishment offers the usual Pho delicacies including the presence of a very happy and charasmatic owner that wants to be your “Super Friend” according to the folks at this site. This is in stark contrast to the fear you bring with you when entering Pho Lan, our usual Dot Com Pho playground.
Other amenities include wheelchair access, acceptance of VISA and MC so you can use that PayPal Credit Card (BlueFur will like that), and if you want more noodles in your soup, the owner will actually be happy to give you a refill, allegedly. Michael will have to put that to the test. It’s amazing how brave he gets when Mr. Lan isn’t around. Last week, he even asked for two different salad rolls! Wow!
Here’s the map of the location:

We’d still like to invite any restaurants or eateries that think they can deal with us to contact me so that we can come check you out one of these Saturdays. All you have to do is put up with us for an afternoon, maybe give us some great food discounts (I’m Chinese. Have to ask.), and you might end up with a bunch of publicity from grateful local bloggers. Keep in mind, you need to be close to transit and centrally located in the Greater Vancouver Area. If you’re Scooter friendly, that’s a bonus.
See you all tomorrow and again, don’t forget to Twitter Me to let me know if you’re coming or not so we can keep that seat warm for you. Yes We Shall!

Noodle Eating Scooter Guy Gets One Upped!
Posted by Stephen on
July 17, 2008
Like most of you, I was pretty impressed with Noodle Eating Scooter Guy’s Scooter driving “Kung Fu”. However, I wasn’t prepared for the “Ninja Skillz” of this guy…
In North America, most people can’t even drive and text at the same time. Just in case you didn’t pick that up, this guy is actually lying down, on his bike and texting at the same time on what looks like a major highway full of cars. No hands on the bars. Fully reclined. I must add that to my list of skillz to learn if I want to go out in a blaze of glory.
Thanks to The Scooter Scoop for the laugh.

My First Yamaha C3 Scooter Mods
Posted by Stephen on
July 17, 2008
It’s been about three weeks since I got my Scooter and I’m truly loving the freedom from the pump. I’ve only filled up two times so far, and both times, I’ve been able to fill up with change in my pocket. The first fill of $5.14 did me for around 170KM’s and I’m sure that mileage will pick up as the engine breaks in more. I’m also in a neighborhood with a lot of hills (it’s like a bowl) so I’m sure that has the potential to hurt my maximum gas mileage which most people are reporting that it’s around the range of 200KM’s per fill up.
Since I’m not one to leave well enough alone, I had to do a few mods to my scoot to make it more unique and custom to my needs. While my scooter is still under warranty, I’ve decided to just do mods that increase my comfort on the bike.
Get a Grip

A Scooter that Battles…
My next upgrades came from an online store called Battlescooter. I shopped all around and not only did they have a really good selection of parts, but they were very reasonable. They also shipped USPS so I wouldn’t get dinged those ridiculous courier customs charges. I categorically refuse to shop at any US retailer that ships via UPS or FedEX. Theses guys also shipped FAST! Like literally, from the time that I placed the order, the stuff was on its way the next day. I watched the tracking info they gave me as my package came up to the border…and then was held by Canada Customs for nearly a week. Stupid.
